Is it painful?
Yes, but in the best possible way! Your body releases endorphins during pain, which can create a sense of euphoria. While tattooing does involve discomfort, many people describe it as feeling like a scratch.
- Shading: Often described as relaxing; some clients even fall asleep during this process.
- Linework and Color Packing: These can feel more intense due to differences in machine settings, but most clients tolerate it well.
Sensitivity varies from person to person. If you’re concerned, we can apply a topical anesthetic cream upon request.
I have a health condition. Can I still get a tattoo?
Please review our Eligibility Check before booking. If you have any medical conditions or concerns, contact us directly to discuss your situation and ensure the treatment is safe for you.
How can I prepare for my tattoo treatment?
Visit the “My Tattoo” page for detailed preparation tips. There’s no need to shave beforehand unless it’s part of your regular routine—our artists will handle that before applying the stencil.
Key preparation tips:
- Eat a good meal before your appointment to maintain your energy levels.
- Stay hydrated—water is your friend!
- If you feel lightheaded, sugary drinks like soda can help.
What to avoid:
- Avoid drinking alcohol the night before your appointment, as it can increase bleeding and affect ink retention.
- Try to rest and come to your session feeling calm and relaxed.
Your hair will grow back normally after the tattooing process.
Do I need to leave a deposit to book an appointment?
Yes, a deposit is required:
- £50 for small treatments
- £100 for longer sessions
Deposits are non-refundable and will be applied toward the final price of your tattoo.
Rescheduling:
- We require at least 48 hours’ notice to reschedule an appointment.
- Rescheduling is permitted once, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Kami Tattoo Art reserves the right to adjust appointment dates on short notice. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for more details.
How can I make payments?
All payments are due upon completion of your tattoo session.
- Accepted payment methods: cash or bank transfer.
- For deposit, rescheduling, and cancellation policies, see our Terms and Conditions.
Where can I park?
We offer free parking:
- A 24-hour free car park is located behind the pub across the street from the studio.
- You may also park on surrounding streets, which are free of charge.
Refer to our parking map for detailed directions.
Can I use numbing cream?
We do not allow numbing creams, and here’s why:
- They can negatively affect tattoo quality and ink absorption.
- Their effects wear off quickly, often making the experience more painful afterwards.
- Numbing creams may cause redness or swelling, requiring us to stop the session.
If you have concerns about pain, discuss them with us before your appointment.
What should I bring and how should I prepare?
For detailed preparation steps, check the “How to Prepare for My Tattoo” page.
Key tips:
- Eat well and drink water before your appointment.
- Avoid heavy physical activity, sun exposure, or alcohol before your session.
If it’s a hot day, avoid spending hours outside without proper hydration. An empty stomach and dehydration are the fastest routes to feeling faint during a session.
Stay calm—you’re in skilled hands. There’s nothing to stress over; it’s just a tattoo!
